India Cook House: Irvine, CA
This is my favorite place that is not to far away to have Indian Buffet. They have a really varied selection. Where most places always just have. The requisite Tandoori chicken, Butter Chicken, And maybe a red curry with either lamb or chicken. They have 3 kinds of chicken, a lamb dish, and fish dish as well, plus maybe one more and of course bunches of veggies and sides. I also love that they have 4 kinds of dessert (pictured). The rice pudding, tastes like others I have had served cold, not thick, with bits of ginger. The fruit salad is basically canned fruit cocktail with I don’t know what yellow cream sauce, this is my least favorite. The carrot pudding which I have a love/hate relationship with. Love, because for some reason an Indian meal doesn’t seem complete without it and it actually tastes pretty good. Hate, because I don’t really like vegetables and eating a dessert that is primarily carrots I feel like I am being a traitor to my anti vegetable stance. So sometimes I think I don’t like this, but actually I do. Lastly, the Gulab Jamin (not sure on the spelling) basically little donuts that after the are fried are soaked and swimming in a syrupy concoction of sugar syrup infused with rose water/essence. Donut swimming in sweet syrup, yup it’s my favorite.
